In the framework of the EQUAL project “Promotion of lace and embroidery crafts and techniques”, with the support of the European Social Fund, in 2005, the FFDB launched an appeal to designers to explore hitherto unused applications for use in our homes.

Entries from 11 designers included light fittings, chairs, domestic objects, etc. giving a new version of the classics and inviting a new look in phase with present day aesthetics and fashions.

An exhibition was mounted in September 2006 at the Ateliers de Paris with aid from the city of Paris. There were visits from 3,500 professionals and amateurs.
