INITIAL DIPLOMA COURSE

CAP Arts de la broderie - Dominante broderie machine automatisée – Diplôme de niveau V (Vocational Training Certificate Arts of embroidery – machine-made embroidery speciality - Level V Diploma)



Duration of training courses:
2 years

Conditions of admission:
About 4th years (Age about 15 years)

Planning and programme:
Weekly: General subjects (14 hours) and artistic, technological and professional subjects (18 hours) - 4 weeks of work experience per annum.

Objectives: Holders of this diploma will be capable of making an embroidery according to a given model. They will know and master machine embroidery on large Schiffli and multiheaded machines.

After the Diploma:
At the end of training, students may enter into an active working life in the machine embroidery industry. They may also, if their level allows, continue studies for a Brevet des Métiers d'Art (BMA) “Arts de la broderie” (Certificate in handcrafts “Arts of embroidery”).

BMA Art de la broderie mécanique – Diplôme de niveau IV (Certificate in handcrafts Arts of machine-made embroidery - Level IV Diploma)



Duration of training courses: 2 years

Conditions of admission: Holders of a CAP 'Art de la broderie', or a BEP in the clothing sector or a Baccalaureate.

Planning and programme: Weekly: General subjects (12 hours), professional and technological subjects (15 hours) and artistic subjects (5 hours) - between 6 and 8 weeks of work experience per annum.

Objectives: At the same time as improving understanding and perfecting machine embroidery techniques, the training is designed to develop creativity and an artistic sense. Holders of this diploma will be capable of following a given model from concept to finished article: stylistic research, design, computerisation, drafting and making on Saurer and multiheaded machines, while integrating the economic constraints and requirements of clients.

After the Diploma: At the end of training, the student may enter into an active working life in the machine embroidery industry. They may also, if their level allows, continue studies for a Brevet des Métiers d'Art (BMA) “Arts de la broderie”(Certificate in handcrafts “Arts of embroidery”).
